Problem

Unhealthy lifestyles and aging demographics are increasing the prevalence of diabetes and heart disease. These diagnoses impair blood flow and the electrical signals which govern wound healing processes, creating chronic wounds*. Chronic wounds are devastating for the patient’s quality of life**, and constitute an overwhelming challenge for caregivers and healthcare systems. More efficacious and scalable treatments are urgently needed.
